Prior to version 4.6.78, the `deploy/api.py` module generates Python server code by directly interpolating the `agents_file` parameter into an f-string that is then written to a file and executed via `subprocess.Popen()`. An attacker who controls the `agents_file` value (via CLI argument, configuration, or upstream API) can inject arbitrary Python code. Version 4.6.78 patches the issue.","cvssScore":9.1,"cvssSeverity":"CRITICAL","cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","cwes":["CWE-94"],"vendors":[],"products":[],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/MervinPraison/PraisonAI/security/advisories/GHSA-g6j7-pffp-8whg","tags":[]},{"url":"https://github.com/MervinPraison/PraisonAI/security/advisories/GHSA-g6j7-pffp-8whg","tags":[]}],"exploitRefs":[{"url":"https://github.com/MervinPraison/PraisonAI/security/advisories/GHSA-g6j7-pffp-8whg","tags":[]},{"url":"https://github.com/MervinPraison/PraisonAI/security/advisories/GHSA-g6j7-pffp-8whg","tags":[]}],"hasPoc":true,"ai":{"summary":"The flaw allows an attacker to inject arbitrary Python code by controlling the `agents_file` parameter, leading to remote code execution.","exploitability":"Exploitation is relatively easy if the `agents_file` parameter can be controlled, such as via CLI or API.","blast_radius":"If exploited, the impact could be severe, as it allows full control over the server execution environment.","remediation":"Upgrade to version 4.6.78 or later.","detection":"No reliable host or network indicator is derivable from the published description.","tags":["rce","python","api","code-injection"],"model":"qwen2.5:7b-instruct","analyzedAt":"2026-10-08T08:41:05.569Z"}}
