{"id":"CVE-2026-54146","published":"2026-11-05T17:18:20.013","lastModified":"2026-11-05T17:18:20.013","description":"OpenHuman is an open-source agent harness available as a desktop application and Rust library. From 0.53.15 before 0.57.5 on macOS, core_process.rs in the Tauri desktop process publishes the per-launch OPENHUMAN_CORE_TOKEN bearer credential in its process environment even though the core now runs as an in-process task. Another process running as the same user can read that environment through the macOS KERN_PROCARGS2 process-inspection interface, recover the token together with the local host and port, and authenticate to the core JSON-RPC service with the authority of the desktop frontend. The attacker can read agent memory and integrated-account data, invoke privileged actions, change configuration, and stop or disrupt services without root access, developer mode, or changes to System Integrity Protection. This issue affects Intel and Apple Silicon macOS systems. This issue is fixed in version 0.57.5.","cvssScore":8.8,"cvssSeverity":"HIGH","cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","cwes":["CWE-526","CWE-732"],"vendors":[],"products":[],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/tinyhumansai/openhuman/commit/336d811ca0ca610b49e82c16a11259c7a4014f28","tags":[]},{"url":"https://github.com/tinyhumansai/openhuman/pull/2709","tags":[]},{"url":"https://github.com/tinyhumansai/openhuman/releases/tag/v0.57.5","tags":[]},{"url":"https://github.com/tinyhumansai/openhuman/security/advisories/GHSA-wp8v-f9rw-qjxc","tags":[]}],"exploitRefs":[{"url":"https://github.com/tinyhumansai/openhuman/commit/336d811ca0ca610b49e82c16a11259c7a4014f28","tags":[]},{"url":"https://github.com/tinyhumansai/openhuman/pull/2709","tags":[]},{"url":"https://github.com/tinyhumansai/openhuman/releases/tag/v0.57.5","tags":[]},{"url":"https://github.com/tinyhumansai/openhuman/security/advisories/GHSA-wp8v-f9rw-qjxc","tags":[]}],"hasPoc":true,"ai":{"summary":"On macOS, OpenHuman versions before 0.57.5 expose a per-launch bearer token (OPENHUMAN_CORE_TOKEN) in the process environment of the Tauri desktop core, allowing any local process running as the same user to read it via KERN_PROCARGS2 and authenticate to the JSON-RPC service with full privileges.","exploitability":"Exploitation requires local access as the same user and knowledge of macOS process introspection; no elevated privileges or bypass of SIP are needed.","blast_radius":"An attacker can fully compromise agent memory, integrated accounts, configuration, and service availability without requiring root or disabling security controls.","remediation":"Upgrade to OpenHuman version 0.57.5 or later, which removes the insecure exposure of the bearer token in the process environment.","detection":"No reliable host or network indicator is derivable from the published description.","tags":["credential-exposure","macos","local-privilege-escalation","bearer-token","insecure-environment"],"model":"garnet-coder","analyzedAt":"2026-11-06T09:53:49.704Z"}}
