{"id":"CVE-2026-16102","published":"2026-08-05T15:16:37.703","lastModified":"2026-08-06T15:37:22.093","description":"A flaw was found in the Dynamic Client Registration (DCR) component of Keycloak, an identity and access management solution. The default DCR policy fails to properly validate the claim path for User Property mappers, allowing them to write values to sensitive internal claim locations. An attacker with a standard user account and a limited Initial Access Token can exploit this to forge administrative roles in their access token. This allows the attacker to take over other clients, steal confidential secrets, and potentially gain full administrative control over the realm.","cvssScore":8.1,"cvssSeverity":"HIGH","cvssVector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","cwes":["CWE-284"],"vendors":[],"products":[],"references":[{"url":"https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:50846","tags":[]},{"url":"https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:50847","tags":[]},{"url":"https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:50848","tags":[]},{"url":"https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:50849","tags":[]},{"url":"https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-16102","tags":[]},{"url":"https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2501735","tags":[]}],"exploitRefs":[],"hasPoc":false,"ai":{"summary":"The flaw in Keycloak's Dynamic Client Registration (DCR) component allows attackers to write values to sensitive claim locations, potentially forging administrative roles and gaining full administrative control over the realm.","exploitability":"Exploitation requires a standard user account and a limited Initial Access Token, making it moderately difficult. The attacker must have access to the DCR feature.","blast_radius":"If exploited, this flaw could lead to the theft of confidential secrets, takeover of other clients, and full administrative control over the realm, impacting a wide range of systems and data.","remediation":"Disable the Dynamic Client Registration feature or restrict access to it strictly.
