A malicious, compromised, or man-in-the-middle MySQL server can send a continuous stream of packets with the maximum payload length (0xFFFFFF), preventing the end-of-message condition from being reached, causing unbounded direct-memory allocation on the client and leading to an out-of-memory crash. This occurs before authentication completes.\n\n\n\nThe impacted component is io.vertx:vertx-mysql-client.","cvssScore":null,"cvssSeverity":null,"cvssVector":null,"cwes":["CWE-789"],"vendors":[],"products":[],"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/eclipse-vertx/vertx-sql-client/security/advisories/GHSA-75hv-9xj3-3cr8","tags":[]},{"url":"https://gitlab.eclipse.org/security/cve-assignment/-/work_items/353","tags":[]}],"exploitRefs":[{"url":"https://github.com/eclipse-vertx/vertx-sql-client/security/advisories/GHSA-75hv-9xj3-3cr8","tags":[]}],"hasPoc":true,"ai":null}
